Zhoushan is a group of treasure islands located at the intersection of the
southeast coast of China and the Yangtze River. It has a long history of
development. As far back as the Neolithic age, Hemudu people crossed the sea by
boat and multiplied here. It has been more than 1200 years since Kaiyuan of Tang
Dynasty set up the county. In the long history, the ancestors of Zhoushan relied
on the sea to eat the sea, promoted fishing and salt, and made it convenient for
boating. They gradually became the sea gateway of the Yangtze River basin to the
world and a famous commercial port in the southeast coast.
